Minister Stanisław Szwed met with Mr. Eugenio Ambrosi, Regional Director of International Organization for Migration (IOM)

On March 16th , 2018, Minister Stanisław Szwed met with Mr. Eugenio Ambrosi, Regional Director of International Organization for Migration (IOM) for the European Economic Area, EU, Norway and Switzerland.

They talked about labour migration, ethical recruitment and employment of migrants. Minister presented the amendments of Polish law with reference to the employment of foreigners in Poland. The amendments aimed- among others - at ensuring adequate working conditions for the citizens from other countries working in Poland, including fair payment conditions. “It is not possible to create a strong economy based on unfair treatment of employees”- stressed Minister. Director Ambrosi underlined, that – in his opinion- Polish solutions regarding migrant workers could be a model for other countries. It was agreed that further discussion would be undertaken on the possible closer cooperation between the Ministry and IOM.
