A draft act introducing the benefit of PLN 500 for families has been submitted to public consultation. Prime Minister Beata Szydło informed about this at the Christmas meeting with large families at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
“Family is the greatest obligation to the government, and we want the ‘Family 500 plus’ programme to be our joint project,” Beata Szydło said at the Saturday meeting with the families.
The ‘Family 500 plus’ project is a systemic support for families. A benefit of PLN 500 will be paid to parents for a child until she or he reaches 18. The proposed solution is to reduce the financial burdens of families associated with raising children and thus encourage decisions to have more children.
“Family 500 plus is the most important programme addressed to Polish families after 1989,” said Elżbieta Rafalska, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy at the Saturday meeting.
