German Public Employment Services lead by member of the Board of the PES, Raimund Becker.
The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences and good practices on measures taken by the German and Polish public employment services and to broaden knowledge about effective labour market policies.
The issues raise during the meeting included temporary employment and measures taken by both states to improve employment conditions. Both German and Polish employment services are struggling with the same problems, i.e. long-term unemployment, activation of people over the age of 50, unemployment of young people, and labour shortages resulting from demographic change.
