The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of Japan on a Working Holiday Scheme was signed in Tokyo on the 27th of February, 2015 and entered into force on the 11th of July, 2015.

 

The benefits of the Programme

 

The Programme is dedicated for young people (aged 18 to 30, both inclusive) and allows its participants to stay in the host country for the maximum of 1 (one) year. The idea is to combine holidaying with an optional taking up paid employment of an additional character to the primary purpose of the stay which is tourism and learning the culture.

 

Requirements for the participation in the Programme

 

Citizens of the Republic of Poland are entitled to apply for the programme if they meet certain requirements; in particular they:

 

  • intend to enter the other country (hereinafter referred to as the “receiving country”) primarily for the purpose of spending holidays;

 

  • are between eighteen (18) and thirty (30) years of age, both inclusive, at the time of application;

 

  • shall not be accompanied by dependants;

 

  • shall possess a valid passport and a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase it

 

  • shall possess reasonable funds for the maintenance of the stay in the receiving country during the initial period;

 

  • shall comply with all health requirements and have medical insurance with hospital care included.

           

 The annual limit of Working Holiday Scheme visas is 500 (five hundred).
