‘Family 500 plus:’ launch of the programme on 1 April

The ‘Family 500 plus’ programme starts on 1 April. The application for child benefit can be submitted in the commune, through Poczta Polska and the Internet. In order to receive the benefit from 1 April, the application must be submitted by 1 July inclusive. After this period, it will be paid from the month of application.

The child benefit is granted on application. There are no charges for downloading and submitting it. The application can be submitted in the commune, mailed or filled in on the Internet through electronic banking, the Electronic Services Platform of the Polish Social Insurance Institution (PUE ZUS), the Emp@tia portal (empatia.mrpips.gov.pl) and the ePUAP.

If the application is submitted after 1 July 2016, the child benefit will be awarded from the month of application without compensation for past months.

“From the very beginning, we have been working in a non-standard way to prepare local governments to the implementation of the ‘Family 500 plus’ programme. I know that Polish families are waiting for its launch. It is a real support for families,” said Elżbieta Rafalska, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
