The third meeting of the Youth Guarantee Monitoring Team

27-10-2016

The third meeting of the Youth Guarantee Monitoring Team took place in the “Dialog” Centre for Social Partnership. Participants were provided with up-to-date information on the implementation of the Guarantee in 2016 by all institutions supporting young people in the labour market: district and voivodeship labour offices, the Voluntary Labour Corps, the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (under the loan programme called “First business – Supporting your start”) and the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. A special guest of the meeting was the Voivodeship Labour Office in Krakow, whose representatives presented measures in the field of reaching youth in Małopolska with the activation offer.

The meeting was also an opportunity to present and discuss the European Commission's report on nearly 3 years of implementation of the Youth Guarantee in the EU. According to data presented in the Commission's study, Poland is one of Europe's leaders in reducing youth unemployment. Between 1 January 2014, when the implementation of the Guarantee began, and the end of the second quarter of 2016, the unemployment rate of people aged 15-24 decreased in Poland from 27.1% to 17.0%.

“Today, almost three years after the launch of the Youth Guarantee, it is a good moment to sum up our joint efforts. We see their measurable effects in the form of rapidly decreasing number of unemployed young people. However, reaching inactive persons furthest from the labour market with the support offer remains a challenge,” emphasised the Chairman of the Team, Minister Stanisław Szwed.
