Minimum wage goes up

In 2018, the minimum wage for work will amount to PLN 2100. That is 5% and at the same time PLN 100 more than currently.

From January, the minimum hourly wage will also increase from PLN 13 to 13.70. The Council of Ministers adopted a regulation on the amount of the minimum wage and the minimum hourly wage in 2018.

“According to the rule set out in the Act on the minimum wage, the amount of the minimum hourly wage is indexed by the minimum wage increase rate.This means that we raised the minimum rates by 5 per cent,” says the head of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Elżbieta Rafalska.

Minimum wage is the lowest remuneration set which an employer must pay to any full-time employee regardless of his/her qualification, personal grades, remuneration components, work time system and distribution of a given employer, as well as specific working characteristics and conditions.
