Eurostat: Poland’s unemployment rate at 3.8%


In Poland, according to the estimates by the Eurostat, unemployment rate was 3.8% in May 2018. The EU28 unemployment rate was 7.0% in May 2018. Poland remains at the forefront of the EU countries with the lowest unemployment.


The EU28 unemployment rate was 7.0% in May 2018, stable compared with April 2018 and down from 7.7% in May 2017. While among eurozone countries unemployment rate was 8.4% in May 2018 down from 9.2% in May 2017.


Poland was among 4 countries with the lowest unemployment rate of 3.8% stable compared with April 2018. In turn, compared to May 2017, it decreased by 1.3 percentage points (from 5,1%).


Among the Member States, the lowest unemployment rates were recorded in the Czech Republic (2.3%) and Germany (3.4%). The highest unemployment rates were observed in Greece (20.1% - data for March 2018) and Spain (15.8%).
