On June 1st, 2018, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Republic of Korea on a Working Holiday Programme, signed in Warsaw on January 24th, 2018, entered into force. 

 

Benefits of the Programme

 

The Working Holiday Programme is dedicated for young citizens of the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Korea who are at least eighteen(18) years of age but have not turned thirtyone (31) and gives them the opportunity for a yearly stay. The idea is to combine holidaying and learning about the culture and way of life in the visited country with a possibility to undertake paid employment of an incidental nature, while the main aspect of the stay will be tourism.

 

Requirements for participants of the Programme

 

Citizens of the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Korea who intend to participate in the Programme, must satisfy the conditions listed below:

  • are permanently resident in the territory of the sending country (Party of the Agreement) at the time of the visa application;
  • declare in writing that the main purpose of their participation in the Programme is to holiday, for a period of up to twelve (12) calendar months;
  • are at least eighteen(18) years of age but have not turned thirtyone (31) at the time of the application for thevisa;
  • are notaccompanied by dependants;
  • hold a valid passport issued no earlier than ten (10) years before applying for thevisa, which has at least two (2) blank pages and will be valid for at least ninety (90) daysafter the end of the planned stay;
  • have a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket;
  • possess sufficient funds for personal support during their stay inthe amount specified bytherelevant authoritiesof the receiving country (Party of the Agreement);
  • comply with any health requirements as specified in the laws and regulations of the receiving country;
  • purchasecomprehensive medical and hospital care insurance, according tolaws and regulations of the receiving country;
  • have not previously taken part in the Working Holiday Programme organized by the receiving country;
  • have paid the relevant fees associated with the visa application; and
  • have no criminal record.

 

The yearly amount of visas for the participation in the Programme is two hundred (200).

 

Visa procedures for citizens of the Republic of Poland

 

Persons intending to participate in the Programme may apply for visas in the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Warsaw.

 

List of documents required in the visa application procedure:

 

- filled visa application with one passport photo (3,5 x 4,5 cm, en face, white background)

- passport (original and a copy of the first page)

- application fee (360 PLN in cash)

- non-criminal record certificate

- health certificate

- bank account statement proving the possession of necessary funds for the stay in the Republic of Korea (USD 3.000)

- documents proving the educational process (last diploma obtained or copies of both sides of student’s ID if such person is in the course of studies)

- plan for job seeking in Korea and the journey plan.
