The amendment to the Labour Code, which enters into force on September 1 this year, assumes the end of the first day employment syndrome. The employer and every employee will be required to have a written contract or written confirmation of its terms – even before admitting the employee to work.

The President signed the Act on the minimum hourly wage. Since 1 January 2017, the minimum hourly wage of more than PLN 12 will apply to people working on contracts of mandate and contracts for the provision of services.
Secretary of State, Stanisław Szwed, met with representatives of the Committee on Health, Labour and Welfare of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament.

“Investment in the family is the best investment,” said Prime Minister Beata Szydło during the conference summarising three months of the “Family 500 plus” programme. “I am very proud, because the programme has already produced concrete results.”
In May, unemployment in the European Union amounted to 8.6 per cent – the Eurostat reports. It has been the lowest level since March 2009. Poland is in the top 10 countries with the lowest unemployment.
“The ‘Family 500 plus’ programme allows many families to really live on plus,” said Prime Minister Beata Szydło at the conference summing up three months of the programme.

On 30 June, Minister Elżbieta Rafalska met with the World Bank team to discuss cooperation opportunities. The Bank delegation was lead by Arup Banerji, Country Director for Operational Engagement in the EU Member States. Secretary of State Stanisław Szwed also took part in the talks.
